THE SIMPSONS x JACKSON POLLOCK

Yesterday, The Simpsons' (towards the end of) opening credits - they did a scene where they are trying to sit on the famous couch scene, but it's in a museum.
While approaching the couch, they go through different parts and trying to camouflage themselves with the background.

It got my attention when I saw this.



Jackson Pollock's "Number 8" painting.



Well, it's the only thing I try not to miss out during new episodes. Haha.

VISITING MOLAA

Last Friday - (10/14/11), my Art 501 class went to Museum of Latin American Art(MOLAA). I didn't even know there's a museum in Downtown Long Beach. Haha.

ALEX FROM A CLOCKWORK ORANGE PAINTING

I used gouache base paints - white and black.
It was so hard to control the paint brush with the wrong brush tip because I only have 1 paint brush to outline or for detailing...


Top: Black and white.
Bottom: Black, white, and grey.



Based on this picture, but my professor zoomed in the picture to take up the whole paper.

AROUND THE GEFFEN CONTEMPORARY AT MOCA LA

I decided to take a short-cut to go to Union Station. I barely noticed that the whole sides of the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA LA had murals by different artists.
